EXPENDİTURE ON EATİNG OUT İN LARGE FAMİLY STRUCTURES

Year 2024, Volume: 7 Issue: 1, 27 - 38, 30.06.2024

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the factors affecting the expenditures on eating out in extended family structures and its effects on individuals and families. In the study, a simple linear regression model (EKK) was used to analyse the household budget survey data for 2019, which was created by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT). According to the findings of the analysis, the coefficients of all variables, which are extended family structure, marital status, employment status, gender, presence of children under the age of 05, presence of students, credit card usage, market habits, education level, income, food expenditure and alcohol expenditure, were found to be statistically significant at 1% significance levels. It is observed that the expenditure of families with extended family structure on eating out is decreasing. It has been determined that having a large family is likely to reduce the expenditure on eating out by 1,44 times compared to other families. Being married is likely to reduce the expenditure on eating out by 0,7 times compared to others. If the head of the household is working, it is determined that the expenditure on eating out is likely to increase, while when the head of the household is a woman, it is seen that the expenditure on eating out decreases compared to men. In addition, it was found that the presence of children under five, the presence of students in the family, credit card usage and market habits are likely to increase the expenditure on eating out. Education level is also one of the variables affecting the expenditure on eating out. Among the variables that are indicators of income, monthly household income, food expenditure and alcohol expenditure are found to be variables that increase expenditure on eating out.

GENİŞ AİLE YAPILARINDA DIŞARIDA YEMEK YEME HARCAMASI

Year 2024, Volume: 7 Issue: 1, 27 - 38, 30.06.2024
