Öz
2019-2021 döneminde TÜBİTAK tarafından desteklenen 19K568 numaralı proje ile bu makalenin yazarları tarafından yeni bir öğrenci
yoksulluğu tespit ölçeği geliştirilmişti. Yaklaşık iki yıl süren proje ardından ölçeğin yeterli bir düzeye ulaştığına karar verilmesi ile çalışma
tamamlanmış ve 4 Aralık 2021’de Yönetim ve Ekonomi Araştırmaları Dergisinde yayınlanıp okuyucularla paylaşılmıştı. Makalenin
yayınlanması ardından birçok akademisyen telefon veya email yoluyla bizimle iletişime geçip ölçeği kullanma izni talep etmiştir. Biz
memnuniyetle taleplerini kabul ederken ekip olarak ölçeğin ölçüm gücünü gösteren ikinci bir makale ile bu alanda çalışma yapanlara
ölçeğimizi daha iyi tanıtabilmek için yeni bir çaba içine girdik. Daha önce yayınladığımız ilk makalede sayfa sayısı sınırlığı nedeniyle
ayrıntılarını sunamadığımız araştırma sonuçlarını yeniden derleyip ilgililerin yapacağı çalışmalara yardımcı olabilecek bilgi ve yorumlar
sunmayı amaçladık. Elinizdeki makale, daha önce geliştirdiğimiz ve tanıtımını farklı bir makale ile yaptığımız ölçek ile toplanan verilerin
nasıl yorumlanacağına ilişkin bakış açımızı sunmaktadır. 9 boyut ve 51 sorudan oluşan ölçeğimiz, son aşamada 781 öğrenciye çevrim
içi uygulanmıştı. SPSS V.24 programı ile analiz edilen ham veriler sonucunda ölçekte yer alan her bir bağımlı değişken çerçevesinde
farklı boyut sıralaması olmakla birlikte, çalışmanın yapıldığı örnek üniversite öğrencileri arasında en yoğun yoksunluk boyutlarının
sırasıyla; sosyo-kültürel, eğitim, sağlık, iletişim, fiziki imkânlar, güvenlik, maddi imkânlar, kendini ifade etme ve uluslararası imkânlar
olarak sıralandığı görülmüştür. Sonuçlardan anlaşıldığı üzere olağan beklentinin aksine, örnek üniversitede, öğrencileri arasındaki en
yoğun yoksunluğun “maddi imkân” eksikliği olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Elbette yoksunluklar, ölçeğin uygulandığı farklı üniversitelerde
değişecektir. Geliştirdiğimiz ölçeğin öğrenci yoksulluğu ile mücadelede etkili bir politika belirleme aracı olmasını umarız

Öz
A new student poverty detection scale was developed by the authors of this article with the project numbered 19K568 supported by
TUBITAK in the 2019-2021. After the project, which lasted about two years, the study was completed when it was decided that the scale
had reached a sufficient level, and it was published in the Journal of Management and Economics Research on 4 December 2021 and
shared with the readers. After the publication of the article, many academics contacted us by phone or email and requested permission
to use the scale. While we gladly accepted their request, as a team, we made a new effort to better introduce our scale to those working
in this field with a second article showing the measuring power of scale. In the first article we published before, we aimed to recompile
the research results, which we could not present in details due to the limitation of the number of pages, and to provide information and
comments that may help the studies to be carried out by those concerned. This article presents our perspective on how to interpret the data
collected with the scale that we developed and introduced with a different article. Our scale, consisting of 9 dimensions and 51 questions,
was applied online to 781 students in the final stage. As a result of the raw data analyzed with the SPSS V.24 program, although there is
a different order of dimensions within the framework of each dependent variable in the scale, the most intense deprivation dimensions
among the sample university students; socio-cultural, education, health, communication, physical opportunities, security, financial
opportunities, self-expression and international opportunities. As it is understood from the results, contrary to the usual expectation, it has
been determined that the most intense deprivation among the students in the sample university is not the lack of “financial opportunity”.
Of course, deprivations will vary in different universities where the scale is applied. We hope that the scale we developed will be an effective
policy-making tool in the fight against student poverty.
